What personal information MineMarket Zambia collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
Last updated: 6 November 2026
1. Who we are
MineMarket Zambia ("MineMarket", "we", "us") is a private online marketplace for Zambia's mining sector. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you browse the site, create an account, post a listing or request, send an enquiry, or apply for a Verified badge — and what we do with it.
If you have questions about this policy, email minemarketzambia@gmail.com.
2. Information we collect
Account information: your name, email address, password (stored in a protected, one-way form that cannot be read back), and the role assigned to your account.
Business information: company name, location, description, website, service lines, and the contact phone number and email address you provide for your listings.
Listing content: titles, descriptions, prices, conditions, locations, photos and videos you upload.
Verification documents: copies of registration, licence or identification documents you submit when applying for a Verified badge.
Enquiries and requests: the message you send, the listing or business it relates to, and the contact details you choose to include.
Technical information: your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and how you arrived at the site. This helps us keep the platform secure and understand which pages are useful.
Cookies and similar storage: small files that keep you signed in, remember your saved listings, and let us count how many times a listing has been viewed.
3. How we use your information
To create and secure your account, and to let you sign in.
To publish your listings, requests and company profile, and to display your contact details to buyers who want to reach you.
To review listings and requests before they appear publicly, and to respond to reports and disputes.
To verify businesses that apply for a Verified badge, and to keep records of that review.
To send transactional messages, such as confirmation that an enquiry was sent, approval or rejection notices, and password resets.
To monitor for fraud, abuse and unlawful content, and to protect the safety of the platform.
To measure how the site performs — for example, which pages are visited and how many people view a listing — so we can improve it.
4. What is visible to the public
Your approved listings, the business name and description on your company profile, and the contact phone number and email address you supply for a listing are shown to visitors so buyers can reach you.
Verification documents you upload are never published. They are seen only by our review team.
A buyer request you post is published without your name, email or phone number; buyers contact us and we pass the request to suitable sellers.
5. Who we share information with
The seller or business you contact: when you send an enquiry, your message and the contact details you include are passed to them so they can reply.
Our service providers: trusted hosting, email delivery and analytics providers who process data on our instructions and are not allowed to use it for their own purposes.
Legal and regulatory bodies: where we are required to do so by Zambian law, a court order, or a legitimate request from a law enforcement or regulatory authority.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers for them to target you.
6. How long we keep information
Account and listing information is kept while your account is open and for a reasonable period afterwards so we can recover a deleted account, resolve disputes and meet record-keeping duties.
Enquiry records are kept so that buyers, sellers and our team can look back on what was asked and answered.
Verification documents are kept only as long as needed to support the Verified badge and any related dispute, then deleted.
Listing view counts are stored as anonymous session identifiers, not as profiles of individual visitors.
7. How we protect information
Access to personal data is limited to staff and administrators who need it to do their job, and administrative actions are recorded in an audit log.
Uploads such as verification documents are stored in private storage that the public cannot browse, and listing media links are time-limited.
Passwords are never stored in readable form, and we support password resets through your registered email.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security — but we work to keep your information protected and will tell you if a breach puts you at risk.
8. Your choices
You can view and correct most of your details from your account page, and you can remove a saved listing at any time.
You can ask us to provide a copy of the personal information we hold about you, correct anything that is wrong, or delete your account and personal data.
You can opt out of promotional messages; we will still send messages that are necessary for your account, your listings and your enquiries.
To make any of these requests, email minemarketzambia@gmail.com. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we will respond within a reasonable time.
9. Children and third-party links
MineMarket is a business platform and is not intended for people under 18.
The site links to other websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices; please read their policies.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the platform grows or the law changes. The date below shows the current version, and material changes will be announced on the site.
